We chatted with Focus Bikes at this year's Sea Otter Classic in California about its latest e-MTB, the Focus Sam2.
The Focus Sam2 e-MTB
Instead of being designed around the engine, Focus says that the Sam2 was designed around aggressive geometries, solid dimensions and its signature full linkage known as FOLD (Focus Optimised Linkage Design).
The Sam2 uses a Shimano E8000 motor, but the battery was designed by Focus so that its designers didn't have to make any sacrifices when it came to the bike's overall design as an e-bike.
There's an option to tag on an additional battery to the one fitted in the down tube too for longer days in the saddle.
Currently available in Europe, a slightly different model will be available in North America very soon.
