Hot on the heels of its launch, the ENVE MOG has arrived at BikeRadar HQ for testing.
The MOG is ENVE’s first gravel bike, sitting alongside the Custom Road and the Melee in the brand’s range. The Melee has just won our coveted Performance Bike of the Year award.
The MOG has clearance for 50mm gravel bike tyres and features down tube storage.
Let’s take a closer look at the bike.
An unmistakably ENVE design
The MOG is constructed from carbon fibre and although ENVE is coy on which specific fibres are used, it says it was looking to strike “the ideal balance of performance, weight savings, comfort and durability”.
The MOG’s frame is claimed to weigh 950g in a size 56cm.
The gravel bike frame is only compatible with 700c wheels. ENVE doesn’t recommend running tyres narrower than 35mm because it will “deliver an unsatisfactory handling characteristic” due to the lower resulting bottom bracket height.
There are eyelets on the top tube and fork for carrying cargo and mudguard mounts, too.
ENVE includes a cover under the down tube to protect against rock strikes, as well as a rather cool chainstay protector that bolts in place.
Although our test bike features a gravel dropper post, you can run a round 27.2mm seatpost if you wish.
The bike is compatible with both 2x and 1x drivetrains, thanks to a removable front derailleur hanger
The bike uses a T47 threaded bottom bracket standard and a SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger.
As you’d expect from a high-end carbon gravel bike, the MOG fully integrates any cables and hoses via its ‘IN-Route’ system. Cables and hoses route internally through the handlebar and stem before passing through the 52mm upper headset bearing.
Our size 56cm test bike has a 44cm-wide handlebar and a 120mm stem.
The MOG is the first ENVE bike frame to feature down tube storage, which the brand dubs the ‘Cargo Bay’. It has a claimed 600ml capacity and bikes come with two neoprene ‘Cargo Bags’ to keep everything stored neatly and rattle-free.

A largely own-brand spec
ENVE doesn’t offer its frames as complete bikes, instead selling them as a ‘chassis’ kit. This includes the frameset, handlebar, stem and seatpost.
The MOG ‘chassis’ kit retails for £5,500/$5,500/€5,995/AU$9,999.
Our test bike comes equipped with a Shimano GRX Di2 groupset. The 1x drivetrain has a 42t chainring paired with an 11-42t cassette.
Although GRX is only 11-speed, we spotted a new 12-speed version of the groupset at Unbound 2023 – so a new iteration of the gravel groupset will likely be on the horizon.
Our test bike also comes with ENVE’s AG25 gravel bike wheels.
The AG25 wheels are part of the brand’s Foundation gravel wheel range, which sits below the flagship G-Series collection. The AG25s feature a 25mm internal rim width and are recommended to accept tyres between 36mm and 50mm wide.
The carbon hookless rims are paired with ENVE’s own Alloy CL hubs. The wheelset is claimed to weigh 1,480g.
The wheels are shod with Schwalbe G-One Ultrabite tyres in a 40mm width.
There is an ENVE-branded Selle Italia SLR saddle and ENVE G-Series dropper post. The post provides 40mm of drop and is claimed to weigh less than 400g.
On our scales of truth, the test bikes weighs 8.87kg.
