Deda’s Superzero RS road bike handlebar has been revamped with a new aerodynamic deeper top-section profile that takes its inspiration from the brand's Alanera one-piece design (as used on the Tour-winning Colnago V3RS).

There is also a gravel bike handlebar that shares the same aerodynamic shaping but brings a 16-degree flared drop to the bar.

Deda already had the flattened top-section design of the Superzero Gravel in its range, but this is the first time it has produced such an overtly aero off-road bar.

Both the new road and off-road RS models share a matching Superzero RS stem.

The stem is made from 2014-grade aluminium. All of the hardware is manufactured from PVD (physical vapour deposition) coated titanium. This is a process that deposits a thin film of protective material. This can be as thin as a single-molecule thick.

It's claimed to provide a lighter, more durable and corrosion-resistant finish than traditional anodising methods. The weight is a claimed 140g for a 110mm stem.

The stem will be available in sizes from 90 to 130mm.

Pricing for both the road and gravel bar is €300 in mainland Europe and to be confirmed elsewhere. The RS stem is €155, with international pricing to be confirmed.

Deda Superzero DCR Stem

Deda also showed its new Superbox DCR stem at Eurobike 2022. This is Deda’s take on integrated cable systems. It can be used with either Deda’s components or competitors' versions, thanks to its four-way configuration.

That means, depending on which configuration is used, it works with standard 11/8th fork steerers, 46mm bearing headsets and 56mm uppers.

The stem comes with a package of spacers and the Nylon under-side cable guiding cover, which should make for maximum compatibility.

The Superbox is available in lengths from 70mm to 140mm in 10mm increments and has a claimed weight of 175g for a 110mm. It is priced at €118.
