Kask has created a new bright pink version of its Mojito helmet to commemorate this year's Giro d'Italia and the brand's sponsorship of the inaugural Gran Fondo Giro d'Italia – a new mass participation event pitting amateurs against the Giro's Queen Stage nine days ahead of the pros.

Kask's new Giro Mojito helmet will be available for the start of the Giro for €129 and features bold flashes of the Grand Tour's Maglia Rosa pink along with the race's 'Fight for Pink' motto as detailing. It also arrives in special Giro-themed packaging.

It's certainly one for hardcore fans – or those who love pink – to add to their Giro gifts wishlist.

The 'fight for pink' detailing runs over nearly the whole shell

The helmet is an officially licensed Giro product and Kask's partnership with event organisers RCS Sport is part of the company's '100 percent made in Italy' drive, which promotes the passion, craftsmanship and quality of Italian cycling.

The route of the Gran Fondo also takes rider's through Kask's home region of Lombardia. “It was a natural decision to support such a great event and help it establish itself among the world’s great rides,” said Kask's general manager Diego Zambon. “Italy, and this region in particular, has played a pivotal role in the evolution of cycling and the ride demonstrates why the '100 percent made in Italy' mark is held in prestige around the world."

Aside from looks, the helmet is exactly the same as the regular Mojito, coming in at 220g (claimed) and with 26 vents for comfortable cooling. Kask's Up‘n’Down system gives just about the most adjustment of any helmet cradle on the market, helping to avoid pinch points while also aiding security. All the padding is made from antibacterial and antimicrobial CoolMax.

The helmet will be available from May at the official store on www.all4cycling.com
