Pembree says the D2As are racer’s pedals. If they’re anywhere near as good as the Pembree R1V flat pedals we tested last year, they will be among the best mountain bike pedals out there.
Our tester gave the R1Vs 4.5 stars, finding them grippy, hardwearing and stable in arduous conditions.
Like the R1Vs, the D2As have an alloy body. The spindles and traction pins are stainless steel. However, weighing 442g, they are nearly 200g lighter than the R1Vs.
The D2As come with an impressive five-year warranty and the bearings are guaranteed for two years. To cap it off, each component is designed and produced in the UK. The company has also strived to ensure its pedals are carbon neutral.
