Eurobike is, by a huge margin, the world’s biggest cycling trade show, spanning five cavernous halls and many floors at the Messe Frankfurt exhibition centre.

From familiar household names to minuscule OEM companies you’ll never see outside of the show, it covers all aspects of the cycling industry.

Here’s our pick of some of the best road, mountain, gravel and plain weird tech from day one.

We were quite taken by this handsome brown version of Merida’s freshly updated Big.Trail hardtail.

The pocket-friendly hardtail sports progressive geometry, neat mounts for accessories and internal cable routing.

Head to our full story on the new bike for more info.

DT Swiss is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a limited run of polished alloy hubs and old-school wheelsets.

Knog debuts new lights

New Knog lights at Eurobike
Knog has a whole new suite of lights on show at Eurobike.

The new Knog Blinder E and X are all-purpose lights designed to work with a battery pack or wire straight into an electric bike’s battery.

The lights are available in 900, 1300, 1800, and 2300 lumen options.

A single 10,000 MAh battery pack is available at launch, with a larger option to come soon. Knog expects riders who require immense runtime will prefer to take two batteries, rather than one mid-sized option.

Knog has also redesigned its logo with new light models to come soon.

Shredpacking is now a thing with this neat rack system from Aeroe, which can be attached to full-suspension bikes, including forks.

This opens up the possibility of carrying panniers or other bikepacking bags more securely.

The rack attaches via a bespoke clamping mechanism that, Aeroe says, distributes pressure evenly across the fork.

The pictured panniers are prototypes, with production models available later this year.

The Profile Design Sonic 52 GMR is a looped aero extension for gravel and ultra-endurance racing.

Profile says bike computers, lights or bags can be mounted to the strut connecting the looped portion of the extensions. The extensions also include routing for dynamo lights.

The extensions mount onto 20mm setback clamps to reduce reach from the saddle to the extensions.

K-Edge 1x Race W chainguide

Chain guides are popular with gravel, road and mountain bike racers seeking extra chain security.

Chain guides are, typically, mounted via band-on clamp or braze-on front derailleur mounts.

However, complex tube shapes make it difficult (or impossible) to use a band-on clamp. Some gravel bikes (and many mountain bikes) are also now 1x specific.

The K-Edge 1x Race W chain guide mounts via seat tube bottle cage bosses, and offers heaps of adjustability to account for bottle cage placement and seat tube angles.

K-Edge expects many riders at the Tour de France, including Mads Pedersen, will use the guide when riding 1x builds at this year’s race.

Hunt Proven Trail

Hunt’s Proven Trail wheelset uses a hoop-shaped carbon insert in its construction to improve compaction in the area between the sidewalls and rim bed.

This, Hunt says, significantly increases its impact resistance versus competitors.

Hunt is the first brand to bring this technology to market. The wheelset is expected to weigh around 1,800g with pricing and availability to be confirmed.

A full-suspension electric beach racer?! Why not

It wouldn’t be a Eurobike roundup without an odd bike that straddles more disciplines than you can shake a wurst at.

The M1 FG.400.SX.P is a full-suspension drop-bar electric bike specced with wide Schwalbe G One tyres, lending it a beach racer-like look.

Pictured is the 4.0 level bike, which will set you back €6,990.
