Punctures are a fact of life, so it pays to always be within arm’s reach of a good-quality puncture repair kit. You’d think there was little to choose from between kits, but some still come with poorly designed patches and vulcanising solution that won’t vulcanise.

For your money, you get four small round vulcanised rubber patches and two oblong ones, a small section of sandpaper for roughing the area around the hole, and a tube of vulcanising solution. Follow the instructions and the end result will be every bit as good as the competition for less money.
