Marzocchi's XC700 fork gets whole new structure for 2008, to create a potentially impressive lightweight for patient fettlers.
A new crown and bottom end with chunkily square 'Bomber' logo brace make it workably stiff on the trail, but it's still lighter than any other 140mm fork, let alone a travel-adjustable one. It takes patience to balance the positive air spring and TAS bottom-out spring between feeling too linear or too ramped, but a smooth, well controlled compromise is in there.
While it's got a much less squishy feel than most Bombers unless you really thrash it, the TST Micro compression damping is more than just an open and shut case.
The metal adjusters are painful on your fingers, though, and the price isn't too friendly.
