Columbus are better known for their long association with steel and aluminium tubing but have also been involved with carbon forks for some time. The Tusk Light uses unidirectional T700 carbon and a painted finish covers where the fork blades are bonded into the aluminium crown.
It's no lighter than a fork with an aluminium crown but the test riders noted slightly better comfort levels than on the Acor forks thanks to the compliance of the carbon steerer tube. A couple of testers thought it was more expensive than it is and we think that the attractive Columbus graphics and lustrous finish make a good looking bike better still.
