Under Armour HeatGear Armour High Sports Bra specifications and details
This high-support compression bra from Under Armour features two main panels; the softshell front and mesh rear and sides.
A wide 4cm fleece-backed chest band runs around the bottom, while the tops of the panels are topped with a thin, stretchy trim.
The straps are cut in a racerback configuration at the back, which also features a cut-out above the chest band.
The front panel is lightly padded, although it doesn’t feature formed cups. It's lined with a fine mesh material on the inside.
The length of the straps is adjustable thanks to hooks and loops at the front, and the bra is a pull-on crop-top design.
Under Armour HeatGear Armour High Sports Bra performance
The fit of the Under Armour HeatGear Armour High Sports Bra is close yet not restrictive, with a true-to-size cut. The size medium was ideal for my 36B chest.
I enjoyed the adjustability of the straps at the front – there's no need to take the bra off or fiddle with your arms behind your back to make changes.
The hook-and-loop system wasn’t the easiest to use, but it’s much like setting your seatpost height; you do it once and you’re good to go.
The front panel offers great coverage, even though there are no cups, which has been something I’ve appreciated when riding through the winter.
I found the trim stretched in tandem with the panels, which led to much less discomfort than some other sports bras I've tested.
However, while the bra was very comfortable for a couple of hours, on longer rides the highly compressive fit started to get a little uncomfortable around my back, under the shoulders.
The bra’s sweat-wicking abilities proved to be decent, with only a little dampness under the chest band at the front after a humid four-hour ride. The back mesh panel and cut-out worked perfectly to avoid any soggy feeling on my back.
While I’d usually opt for a light or medium-support bra, being rather small-chested, I appreciated the great level of support offered by this bra, which stayed in place perfectly.
I’m convinced it could be used as a true multi-sport bra for riders also taking on other demanding, high-intensity activities such as running and CrossFit.
