Our review
Good performance that’s let down by a disproportionate fit

The Solo is good-looking when laid out, but the fit is rather shapeless. Our large sample came up big in the chest and huge around the waist on riders with the stated 42in chest.

It fends off the wind well, but the loose middle flaps a bit. The shoulders and collar fit better though. Showers are valiantly resisted, the Solo’s zip only defeated by heavy rain.

With a little persuasion the Equipe can be packed into its small, zipped side pocket, making it possible to tuck the lot into a tight jersey pocket until the weather takes a turn for the worse.
