Fox's casual Trooper works OK on and off the bike, but tatty detail spoils the overall appeal. Like Madison with their Pursuit Waterproof and DHB with the Amberley, Fox have boosted the performance of their average fabric with a full mesh liner, so although it sweats out fast, it doesn't feel too damp against the skin.
Stormflapped and meshed front and rear side vents don't quite open enough to affect the core temperature, so you have to rely on the two-way zip and pulling the sleeves up to bleed some heat. It'll wet out in heavy weather too.
Big reflective panels, plenty of pockets, and reinforced sleeves and sides are neatly integrated into the boxy cut for a street-styled look but the frayed string pull tabs on the zips look really cheap on a £100 jacket.
