Santa Cruz Bicycles chose an odd day to launch two new bikes, but the Tallboy LT and LTc are no April Fool's joke – in fact, our tester Guy Kesteven reckons the latter is the best trail bike he's ever ridden.
In case you missed it, you can read all about them in our first look & ride report. You can also check out Guy putting the carbon bike through its paces in the video below, filmed during a recent What Mountain Bike magazine cover shoot. We've got video profiles of both new bikes from Santa Cruz themselves, too.
The company have now confirmed pricing and availability for both models. The carbon Tallboy LTc frame will cost US$2,699/£2,699 with a Fox Float RP23 shock, in matt carbon/orange or Solar Yellow/black.
Complete bikes will also be available. The LTc R/AM build, with Shimano Deore XT/SLX transmission, Avid Elixir 5 brakes and Truvativ Stylo finishing kit, will cost $4,399/£4,399, while the SPX/AM, with XT transmission and brakes, plus bits from Thomson and Easton, will be $5,299/£4,999.
The LT frame will come in at $1,999/£1,879, in Gulf Blue/orange or Gloss Gun Black/black. The R/AM spec will be $3,199/£3,299 and the SPX/AM spec $4,299/£4,099. The first LT frames are in stock now and available as part of Santa Cruz's Custom Color Choice Program for US delivery by 13 April. The first carbon frames will follow at the beginning of May.
