The UK's first dual slalom in a carpark was held in Cardiff last weekend, with Lewis Lacey and Katy Curd winning the men's and women's races.
The Evans Urban Dual was sponsored by Evans Cycles, who have a shop underneath the NCP multistorey carpark in Dumfries Place. The course was certainly a tricky one: A pro dual gate on the sixth floor opened up into a 50 metre straight, followed by a tight right onto a down ramp, onto the next story followed by a set of stairs corkscrewing down to the ground floor.
100 riders entered and had to be whittled down to 16 for the finals. Despite only qualifying 10th, Lewis Lacey was too good for fastest qualifier Nathon Parsons in the men's final. Alex Metcalf took third after beating Martin Ogden in the small final. The women's race had a considerably smaller field of four, and Katy Curd had no problems defeating Jess Greeves in the major final. Rachel Burrige was third ahead of Lauren Jenkins.
Videographer Liam Murphy was there to capture the action, which you can see in the following clip.
