An event that is billed as the UK’s first ever multi-sport adventure sports festival hits the Scottish Borders on the weekend of July 5 and 6.
Participants can choose from mountain biking, adventure racing or trail running, and there’ll be a selection of well established and brand new events, all based in the adventure village in the grounds of Traquair House. The Scottish baronial stately home, set in beautiful countryside in the Tweed Valley, dates back to 1107 and claims to be Scotland's oldest inhabited house. The Polaris Challenge mountain bike orienteering race and adventure race takes place over both days, and the 12 kilometre trail run takes place on July 5.
The organisers, Detail Events, place great emphasis on making this an inclusive event, hence the Dirty Weekend will see experienced adventure racers, mountain bike orienteers and fell runners competing alongside less seasoned sporting enthusiasts who are simply keen to challenge their fitness levels and have fun along the way.
