Last Sunday, Brandon McNulty won the elite men’s road race at the UCI World Championships to become the first American man to claim the title in 33 years.
Now, Colnago has revealed a special Y1Rs for McNulty ahead of his debut in the rainbow jersey at the Giro dell’Emilia on Saturday.
McNulty’s victory keeps the rainbow jersey in the UAE Team Emirates-XRG team for the third consecutive year after Pogačar’s wins in 2024 and 2025. But, unlike Pogačar’s bike for the 2026 Tour de France, McNulty’s is a flashier affair.
The Colango Y1Rs pays tribute to the American winner and Montreal, where the World Championships took place. The aero bike has a glossy black finish that’s “enriched” with glitter to recall the stars of the USA flag.
“Against this deep black background, the traditional rainbow colours are reinterpreted through a bold colour-block scheme, with strong, sharply defined bands of blue, red, yellow and green extending across the frame and rear stays,” Colnago says.
Elsewhere, the Colnago logo on the down tube has an iridescent, holographic finish. There is a vintage Colnago logo on the head tube featuring the rainbow stripes.
The date of McNulty's victory, the ace of clubs and a Canadian maple leaf feature on the headset cover.
“The result is a Y1Rs that brings together the rainbow jersey, American pride, Colnago heritage and the story of Montreal in a single frame – with every detail designed to mark the moment when Brandon McNulty became World Champion,” Colnago adds.
