Zwift is offering its Zwift Play controllers for free with the purchase of a smart trainer until Monday 7 October.
The offer comes after Zwift recently announced a raft of events and new features for its app to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
These include expansions to the app’s core virtual world, alongside updates to training and racing content over the coming months.
Eligible products
To benefit from the offer, you’ll need to purchase one of the following smart trainers from Zwift’s website:
- Wahoo Kickr Core Zwift One
- Wahoo Kickr Core with cassette
- Wahoo Kickr
- Wahoo Kickr Move
- Wahoo Kickr Snap
Once a smart trainer and the Zwift Play controllers are added to the basket, Zwift says the discount will automatically apply at the checkout.
What is Zwift Play?
Zwift Play is a handlebar-mounted controller, enabling you to steer your avatar and navigate in-app features. They also bring braking functionality when you’re riding virtually, making the experience more immersive.
The integrated paddles are pressure-sensitive and can give haptic feedback for certain actions via vibrations from the main body of each controller.
You’d otherwise have to use the touchscreen of your smart device within reach while riding, or the keyboard and mouse on your computer.
The controller typically has an RRP of £99.99 / $99.99 / €99.99.
Zwift Play attaches to your handlebar using thick rubber band mounts, similar to how you would attach a bike light. Senior tech writer Simon von Bromley scored it four stars when he reviewed it in 2023.
