It's all about having the right winter clothing for mountain biking – and Endura has a range of women's specific bike kit designed for just that. The range encompasses shorts, waterproof jackets, base layers and accessories; here we take a first look at a selection of products on offer, which have arrived at BikeRadar's Bristol HQ. Singletrack jacket
The women's Singletrack Jacket (£99 / $169.99) is a full seam-sealed breathable waterproof jacket. The jacket features a hood that can be rolled away when not in use with toggles for adjusting the fit.
The fit of the cuffs is adjustable with Velcro pull tabs, and the hem can also be tightened to fit with the pull cord. For those of us who end up riding in wet but warm conditions, the underarm pit vents are likely to be a handy feature
Storage is generous, with three pockets: two hand warmer pockets at the front, and a chest pocket that includes a media port.
The Singletrack jacket comes in a vivid red (pictured) or vibrant purple, and is available in sizes XS to L.
Transrib women's base layer
The Endura Transrib (£29.99 / $54.99) women's base layer is made from a stretch ribbed CoolMax and polyester-mix fabric with an antibacterial finish to help prevent stinky arm pits. The fit, which Endura describes as athletic, is designed to sit close on the skin – an important feature for moisture management.
Wms Singletrack II 3/4
Endura's Singletrack shorts are a popular choice for many mountain bikers, and the brand also produces a women's specific 3/4 length version – the Wms Singletrack II 3/4 (£99 / $109.99) for those who want a bit more coverage.
The Singletrack II 3/4 shorts are constructed from a robust-looking cordura nylon fabric with stretch fabric at the knees and side. There's plenty of pocket space, with two hip pockets with magnetic closures, one with an additional zipped pocket, two rear cargo pockets and thigh vents in case things get a little toasty.
A wide waistband has elastic at the back and Velcro pull tabs with D-rings for fit adjustment, and pull-tabs at the hem also allow adjustment at the leg. Heavy duty is the word Endura uses to describe these – and it's an appropriate one. In addition to the sturdy fabric, the seams and double and triple stitched.
The Wms Singletrack II 3/4 shorts are available in XS to L, and from an initial try-on I'd say they size up accurately. If you don't fancy 3/4 lengths, there are regular length Singletrack II shorts available too.
Wms Baabaa gift pack – cap, socks and neck warmer
Christmas may have passed, but the Baabaa Gift Pack (£34.99 / $59.99) would still deliver a fine present for mountain bikers in your life. It consists of a fine-knit cap and neck warmer, and chunkier ankle socks, all in a coordinating pink hue. If you don't fancy pink there are three black versions available with either red, green or orange highlights. Made from Merino wool, with its well known insulating and antimicrobial properties, the gift pack would be welcomed by riders who feel the cold.
A quick try of the cap indicates that the knit is fine enough to allow it to fit under most cycling helmets. This seems like a handy selection of products bundled together that will help stave off winter chills.
