How to descend quickly and safely is the third in a multi-part road cycling ŠKODA skills series featuring pro tips from members of the British Continental squad Team Raleigh-GAC. The series is running in conjunction with the 'How to' section from our sister magazine Cycling Plus.
In this video, Raleigh-GAC pro Jeron Janssen talks us through and demonstrates the important aspects of descending: how to get your speed right coming into a downhill corner, the ideal line to take, where to look and of course, how to go fast.
How fast? You probably won't be able to hit Janssen's teammate Jamie Sparling's eye-popping top speed of 106km/h but we're pretty sure if you're a slow, nervous descender, this video feature will help you.

The ŠKODA skills series comes from a coaching day courtesy of Skoda at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit in London, where six winners of a Cycling Plus competition were given a day's tuition from the guys of Team Raleigh-GAC.
