Do you like Pina Coladas and riding in the rain? Are you also looking for a pair of new road cycling shoes for the upcoming summer season? And perhaps most importantly, are you ok with toting slightly lairy kit? If so, Mannschaft might have exactly what you’ve been looking for.

Definitely lairy and definitely right up Jack's street

Said to be “inspired by the sun of California”, German brand Mannschaft has just released these palm-tree covered road shoes and I — a self confessed fan of jazzy cycling kit — am absolutely smitten with them.

While I have no doubt that choosing an appropriately groovy pair of socks to match the shoes will be no easy task, I’m going to soldier on bravely, perhaps referring to our sock buyer's guide.

The shoes feature a BOA-like dial and a strap for snugging up the toe-box
The shoes also feature a super-stiff carbon sole

That said, the shoes are more than just a pretty face — weighing in at 219g per shoe, with a super stiff carbon sole, a BOA-like adjuster dial and a ‘cats-tongue’ heel gripper, I hope that the shoes will perform as well on the bike as in the ‘style’ department.

The cats-tongue gripper is much like those seen on other shoes on the market

As with all Mannschaft’s kit, the Road Beach shoes are strictly limited to 300 pieces worldwide, so if you fancy getting your hands on this slice of tropical paradise, you better act quick!

The Road Beach shoes are available to order direct from Mannschaft for €172.90 (approx £147 / $184 / AU$245). International shipping is available.

What do you think of the shoes? Has Jack made a grievous mistake and bought a pair of shoes that look like a serviette at a child's birthday party? Or are you breaking out your floral shirts in anticipation of your hastily ordered pair arriving? As always, leave your thoughts in the comments below.
