German company Lightweight, known for their high quality wheelsets, are continuing to expand their component range with the new Rennbügel road handlebar.
With a claimed weight of 168g for a 42cm model, it lives up to the brand's name. And if the quality of the carbon is up to Lightweight's usual standards, it should be a very stiff bar. The Rennbügel will be tested but not manufactured in Germany; Lightweight have chosen a Taiwanese company to make the bar.
The Rennbügel features a 136mm drop and 79mm reach and is available in 40, 42 and 44cm centre-to-centre widths. It's priced at £320/€349 (German price – it will be more in other European countries due to tax) and should be available in mid-August.
