Lightweight, makers of ultra high-end wheels such as the Fernweg and Autobahn, have turned their distinctive aero carbon spoke design into bottle cages and are selling them for €65.
The Edelhelfer cage – designed to hold Tacx bidons – is made from the same carbon and resins used in the company’s premium wheels, confirmed Lightweight’s PR Frank Jeniche to BikeRadar.
While €65 (international pricing tbc) is steeper than the Koppenberg climb, it’s not the most expensive bottle carrier we’ve come across. When Campagnolo released an 18g Record-branded cage in 2009, it retailed for over £100 in the UK.
The Edelhelfer, which means super-domestique in German, comes with lightweight alloy screws and are available now from Lightweight.
