The metal accessories company K-Edge began as a solution to a problem, specifically a chain catcher to ensure that Kristin Armstrong’s chain stayed on during tricky sections of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games time trial. (It worked; she won.)

While the company’s chain catchers can still be found on pro bikes like the Giant Defy of Paris-Roubaix winner John Degenkolb, the company now has a line CNC-machined products to make sure other things stay on the bike: Garmin computer and GoPro videocameras.

Beginning in January, K-Edge will roll out a redesigned alloy mount that features a single-bolt clamp and a curved arm that will be used for both computer and videocamera mounts. This will allow a videocamera like the new cube-form GoPro Hero Session to be mounted directly in line with the stem. A few lighting brands are also taking to the GoPro mount system, and so that's an option for these mounts too.

The mounts will retain the same names as the current products, and the same replaceable interfaces or bolt-on add-ons such as the Combo that takes a Garmin on top and a GoPro underneath.

The single-bolt clamp pivots open, which will make it easier to install and look a little cleaner.
