You've got to earn a bike of this colour - Tour de France leader swaps Spartacus white to bright yellow
As if seeing Fabian Cancellara in the yellow jersey at the end of stage two was always the plan for Trek Factory Racing, this resplendent yellow Trek Domane was awaiting its master outside the team bus before the Belgian leg of this year’s Tour got underway.
Specification wise, the bike mirrors the custom Spartacus Domane that Cancellera rode into yellow on stage two. The only differences appear to be cosmetic – the bright yellow paint job, a matching SRM PC8 computer and a new embossed name badge at the back of the top tube. The gleaming white stem of the other Domane has been swapped for a black version – setting off the yellow perfectly.
Trek gave us ‘one minute and no touching’ with the bike behind the team barriers. Check out the shots above.
