Since the 1980s, 100% has been creating eyewear for motocross, and more recently expanded into the road cycling, mountain biking and cyclocross scene. Now it has launched its latest Speedtrap sunglasses which see several updates to the Speedcraft model, including frame design, fit and a new quick-release lens system.
The biggest name in cycling — Peter Sagan — has been wearing 100% throughout the 2017 season, even arriving on the podium with motocross goggles hanging around his neck, much to the delight of his sponsors, and he first wore the Speedtrap shades on his way to his third world title in Bergen this September.
As well as Peter Sagan, Mathieu Van der Poel — the biggest name in cyclocross — has worn them throughout the start of this cyclocross season too, most recently winning Koppenbergcross earlier this week. So they've got plenty of race-winning credentials.
Adjustable style
The arms of the Speedtrap glasses are adjustable, with the ‘three-way fit’ offering a secure fit for a variety of head shapes and sizes.
100% claims the new frame design "increases peripheral vision and protection" by following the contours of your eyes. The glasses also feature cooling vents to prevent misting up.
The lenses have a ‘Hydroilo’ coating to help repel oil and water, as well as providing protection from UVA, UVB and UVC rays.
Six different colourways are available, which can be combined with a clear, electric blue mirror, black mirror, green mirror or multi-layer (orange) mirror lens.
Starting at $185, the glasses include a spare lens, microbag and a larger protective case.
In the US, 100% offers free shipping and returns (within 45 days) for orders over $100, and while this offer doesn’t extend internationally the glasses are available at dealers worldwide.
We will update the article with international pricing as soon as we receive it.
