Participants in London-Paris 2010 will be joined by some famous names including Olympic pursuit champion Rebecca Romero.

Another star signed up for the event is Swedish former professional cyclist Magnus Backstedt, who won Paris-Roubaix in 2004 and a stage of the 1998 Tour de France, and now has his own team, MagnusMaximusCoffee.com.

Billed as a "unique Tour de France-style endurance event for amateur and cyclosportive riders", the ride covers 550km in three days, with a rest day in Paris. Next year's event starts on 24 June. Registration opens on 30 November at www.londres-paris.com.

Romero said: "It's obviously a longer distance than I'm used to but that's what appeals to me. London-Paris 2010 will be one of my key targets for next year and I'm really looking forward to the challenge."
