With less than two years to go until the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the London Organising Committee (LOCOG) is looking for volunteers.
Up to 70,000 people are needed to help make the London Olympics happen. Road cycling events, in particular, will require a large number of marshals.
A spokesman for LOCOG said: "With Britain a serious medal contender in both the men’s and women’s road races, this is a great opportunity for cycle enthusiasts, club riders and armchair fans to play a part in one of the highest profile international sporting events.
"Volunteers will be expected to work at least 10 days of shifts, which will likely mean that you'll have an opportunity to work on other sporting events too. In return, you'll have a golden opportunity to help make history happen and develop new friendships."

Application takes 30-40 minutes and does not guarantee acceptance as a volunteer. Successful applicants must attend three training events prior to the Games. Please note that LOCOG is unable to respond to individual queries.
