Integrated LED tail lights, GoPro camera mounts and a chamois-like liner are all new for Lazer Helmets in 2013.
The Helium road helmet features a few small but notable tweaks for the 2013 model, the most important being an LED light that’s built into the Rollsys barrel adjuster at the top of the helmet.
Featuring a solid and blinking model, the small LED adds a substantial amount of safety with virtually no weight penalty. What’s better, the design is backwards compatible, so owners of existing Heliums can just pop the light into their Rollsys barrel.
Also new for the $230 Helium: a coated Rollsys cable for smoother operation, a gel ‘Aqua Pad’ at the front of the helmet and a reversion to a standard buckle over the current model’s magnetic closure.
On the mountain side, Lazer went big on the Oasis with two features — the ‘Flash’ yellow color and an integrated GoPro videocamera mount. The GoPro idea came about for Lazer’s upcoming line of snowsports helmets, but will now be brought to market first with the mountain-bike lid. The 2013 Oasis will sell for $130, beginning at the end of July. The GoPro mount can be removed and replaced with a standard cap.

For urban riders, the $80 Armor Deluxe features a fabric cover, leather-like straps, metal adjusters, a magnetic buckle, and closed foam padding, which Lazer says is durable and easy to clean. It features an Alcantara liner.
The snowsports-inspired Sweet has an open-close switch for the top vents, a Rollsys adjustable retention system and interior channeling in the foam. It is $100.
The $60 Citizen urban helmet is the same as the current model, but with a smaller visor.
Finally, Lazer has created what the company is calling the Mag Clip to allow riders with the Magneto sunglasses to attach the magnetic sunglasses to the top of the helmet as well as the standard position. This is a simple solution — two-way tape affixes plastic holders with magnets to the helmet, then the sunglasses clip to the holders.
A narrower version of the Magneto — the M1S — is also in the works.
