Italian brand Gaerne have introduced the Boa dial closure system to several new shoes for 2013, including the Carbon G.Chrono (£299.99).
The shoe is the new range-topper, and a full carbon sole has helped shave 25 percent of weight from the model it's usurped, the G.Mythos. The G.Chrono weighs 554g per pair (size 9 UK, 9.5 US).
It will be available from Hotlines in four colours – red, black, blue or white. A pink Giro-inspired version is available in other territories, too.
Thomson
We first got a sniff of Thomson's Elite Union Jack MTB seatpost last year, but back then it was only available to the national team. Now, the patriotic among you will be delighted to hear it's gone on general sale through UK distributor i-ride.co.uk, perfectly timed for the Olympics.
The alloy post is priced £99.99 and comes in a 410mm length and 27.2, 30.9 and 31.6mm diameters.
Tifosi
Tifosi's latest shades, the Podiums (£59.99), feature three polycarbonate interchangeable lenses (Smoke, Clear and AC Red). These offer 100 percent UVA/UVB protection.
The glasses are made from strong homopolyamide nylon Grilamid TR-90, and have adjustable nose and ear pieces for a customisable fit. They come in a variety of colours, including Metallic Red, Matte Black and the Metallic Silver shown here.
They'll be available from Zyro.
RSP
RSP saddles are distributed by Raleigh in the UK, and this Carbon Race saddle (£79.99) gets an endorsement from the Team Raleigh-GAC cycling team. With full carbon rails and a reinforced base, it weighs just 160g and is suitable for road and cross-country use.
Cratoni
At just 204g for a large size, Cratoni's Bullet helmet (£99.99) will be an attractive proposition for weight weenies. It certainly stacks up well against benchmark barely-there lids such as Specialized's Prevail and Giro's Aeon. It comes in either black/red/white or white/silver and is available now from Hotlines.
