French bike manufacturers Sunn had their full range of 2010 mountain bikes on show at Eurobike 2009.
The lineup spans everything from beginner cross-country hardtails to top-of-the range downhill bikes, and they're all available in the UK via Jim Walker & Co.
Sunn’s Finest bikes (like the Tesco Finest range of food) are the company’s top-of-the-range models which, according to the blurb, are “more sophisticated than a custom-made bike”.
Attention to detail and high specification is the key on the Finest bikes, with anodised frames and the best components and finishing kit on the market.
The €4,999 (£4,499.99) Shamann Finest has a RockShox SIX World Cup 100mm-travel carbon fork, RockShox Monarch 4.2 rear shock, Formula R1 disc brakes, Truvativ Noir chainset and a mix of SRAM X0 and X9 for shifting.
All parts including suspension linkages are colour co-ordinated for an eye-pleasing finish.
If titanium’s your thing then this Prim Ti Finest model should fit the bill at €5,599 (£4,999.99).
The Radical Finest is the top downhill model from Sunn, sporting a RockShox Boxxer World Cup fork, RockShox Vivid 5.1 shock, Formula The One disc brakes, Truvativ Holzfeller OCT chainset with MRP’s miniG2 bashguard and Mavic DeeMax wheels, all for €3,199 (£5,399.99).
Rose
This custom painted Crystal Stoke was put together for the Eurobike show and was a big draw to the Rose stand.
Rose downhill/freeride team rider Bobby Root was at the stand giving advice, and showing off his Beef Cake rig.
The Bruce dirt jump bike is available with different build options, and will be used by a dirt jump team the company is putting together for the 2010 season.
The Count Solo race hardtail starts at around €999 (approx £890) and is available with a number of finishing kit options.
The Red Bull spans the more ‘Euro’ side of the Rose Bike catalogue, and this cross-country carbon race hardtail has plenty of lightweight kit to get you around any course in super-fast time.
Mongoose
Mongoose had their 2010 mountain bikes on their stand as well as team rider Steve Romaniuk’s Boot’r downhill race bike. Built up with RockShox Boxxer World Cup forks, SRAM X0 and bling anodised gold parts, it’ll set you back €3,749 (approx £3,325).
For a more affordable price, you can get your hands on this version of the Boot’r for €2,100 (approx £1,860).
The €3,299 (approx £2,925) Mongoose Khyber Super uses Truvativ’s HammerSchmidt drive system and comes with RockShox Lyric forks, Avid Elixir disc brakes, SRAM X9 shifting and a KS Cobra adjustable seatpost. An Elite version is available for €2,100 (approx £1,860).
Mongoose’s Teocali bikes are often praised for their value for money and impressive ride handling qualities (read our previous model reviews here), so we’re excited about getting our leg over one of the 2010 offerings.
The €2,999 (approx £2,660) Teocali Super has a RockShox Revelation Race Air U-Turn fork and Monarch 4.2 rear shock, a mix of SRAM X0 and X9 for shifting and Avid Elixir R disc brakes.
Comp and Elite models are available with downgraded spec for €1,399 (approx £1,240) and €1,999 (approx £1,775) respectively. The Comp comes with bright orange rims.
