“The entries reflected the wide diversity in the bicycle industry. Many clever, but also sometimes ‘crazy’ ideas – a good overall picture,” said Felix Böhlken, editor of Germany’s RoadBIKE magazine. “There was everything from high-tech solutions to charming ideas that were implemented with the use of few materials but lots of passion. Many of the products entered came from wonderful enthusiasts. How disappointing that there were no products at all that focused specifically on the aspects of sustainability and environmental friendliness. This is a sector in which we expect the bicycle industry to be an innovator!”
