Charge Bikes have introduced a new saddle to their collection – it's called the Scoop. In typical Charge style, it's available in eight colour combinations (check out our image gallery for a look at all of them). The prices are good too; £39.99 for chromoly rails and £59.99 for Ti alloy.
A unique three-piece construction means the new saddle gets an unusual look and does without the usual stitching, staples and plastic bumpers. At 245g for the Ti alloy railed version, it's light enough for cross-country duties or road use but should be tough enough for enduro and general trail riding.
The Charge Scoop saddle consists of a waterproof microfibre cover with lightweight foam padding, a one-piece base with a totally smooth surface. The smooth base is also said to resist mud build-up effectively – a nice touch.
The base of the Scoop is completely smooth
The shape doesn't stray too far from that of the popular Charge Spoon saddle, but the dimensions have increased by a few millimeters. Width is now 145mm, and length 280mm.
Charge Bikes are claiming this is the best saddle they've ever made. We've had one on test for a little while now, so keep your eyes on BikeRadar for a review soon.
