Following the launch of their Elite Series road bikes earlier this year, Boardman Bikes today unveiled their five-strong 2012 Elite AiR/TT time trial range. They claim to have produced a "world-class, super-aero, super-fast TT bike", developed both in the wind tunnel and the real world.
Frame highlights include aero tube profiles, integrated brakes (the front one is set within the fork, while the rear is positioned under the bottom bracket), internal cable routing, a BB30 bottom bracket shell, box-section chainstays and in a nice practical touch, two bottle cage mounts on the frame, so you can carry extra water in longer races.
The range-topping AiR/TT 9.8 comes in at £6,999.99, with the 9.4, 9.2 and entry-level 9.0 costing £3,999.99, £2,699.99 and £1,999.99 respectively. The 9.8 frameset can be bought separately for £1,599.99 and has a slightly different carbon layup to the other three, with a greater proportion of higher modulus carbon in key areas for improved stiffness and power transfer.
