Clothing from British brand Altura has traditionally fared well in our reviews, offering simple but well thought out designs at reasonable prices. For 2011 they've updated their logo and are about to launch a new website. Here's a quick look at their spring/summer mountain bike line.
The Bamboo Abstract Tee jersey (main pic) comes in this year's must-have colour, bright green (a black version is also available), and is made from a high-wicking, fast-drying, soft-touch fabric which contains 25 percent bamboo fibre to keep odour and bacteria at bay. RRP is £24.99.
Toning things down a bit, the camo Fatigue shorts look like a regular pair of cargo shorts but are made of a hardwearing, stretchy, soft-touch fabric, with a plethora of pockets for storing spare change, multi-tools and the like. RRP is £44.99.
The Mayhem Bamboo Whoosh Tee is made from the same fabric as the Abstract Tee, with a similarly baggy (rather than race-tight) fit, and is available in red or black. RRP is £24.99.
The Attack is Altura's top-end mountain bike jersey, with a zip neck and hidden lift pass/credit card pockets. RRP is £39.99 and it's available in brown or black, as well as a £44.99 3/4-sleeve version.
The Semi Dry 3/4 shorts did well when we tested them last year and they carry over for 2011. During your average British summer, the waterproof panels down the back will come in very handy. RRP is £59.99.
On the women's side of things, this Quantum Tee caught our eye. Aimed at trail riders, it's available in black or brown for £24.99.
