Truvativ has been making custom handlebars for its top athletes since at least last year, and now three models have been approved for public release as part of the BlackBox Athlete Series.
Included in the trio are two aluminum gravity bars designed for Danny Hart and Steve Smith, plus a carbon fiber handlebar custom molded for enduro racer Jerome Clementz. All will be available from June, with suggested retail prices from US$83/€75 to US$198/€179.
Clementz's bar is obviously the lightest of the three, with a claimed weight of just 240g. According to a SRAM press release, he requested a "wider, stiffer, lighter bar that gives him ultimate control without sacrificing the toughness he needs for powerful sprints and descents". Width is pegged at a versatile 750mm, with 20mm of rise, 5 degrees of upsweep, and 7 degrees of backsweep. Suggested retail price is US$198/€179.

The Danny Hart signature BlackBox bar instead uses 7050 aluminum and a generous 780mm width – the same as the popular Truvativ BooBar. Upsweep is the same as on the Clementz bar, at 5 degrees, but backsweep is slightly increased to 9 degrees and there's a 25mm rise instead of 20mm. Claimed weight is 340g and the only available color is anodized gold, to celebrate Hart's status as a former world champion.

Finally, there's the Steve Smith signature model, with the same width, upsweep, and weight as Hart's custom bar but with 30mm of rise and 7 degrees of backsweep. Available colors include black and silver anodized.

Suggested retail price for both the Steve Smith and Danny Hart bars is US$83/€75.
