Here’s a pro mountain bike to really get your pulse racing – Australian speed merchant Sam Hill’s Team CRC/Nukeproof Pulse.
Hill cinched the Australian Mountain Bike Gravity Cup Series yesterday in Bright, Victoria, in a crowning achievement in the 27-year-old’s early 2013 season. He signed with Team CRC/Nukeproof at the beginning of the year.
"It’s definitely a good start for the new team,” Hill said. It's the first part of the 2013 season out of the way, and to win all the qualifying and the national rounds has been good. Hopefully I can carry that through to the rest of the season.”
The 2013 squad bike – which will also be used by UK riders Matt Simmonds and Joe Smith – is built around the Nukeproof Pulse downhill frame. It features a RockShox Boxxer World Cup fork, a Vivid R2C rear shock, SRAM X0 shifting and Avid Code brakes.
There’s also an e*thirteen chainguide and Mavic Deemax Ultimate wheels shod with Schwalbes. The frame is finished in new decals and a seatpost, saddle, handlebar, stem, headset and grips from Nukeproof. Later in the year, Hill’s bike will also be fitted with a BlackBox shock and fork from SRAM.
