Longer saddle perfect for multisport and time trials

The latest version of Fizik's Arione Tri saddle isn't just for multisport athletes. Time triallists, especially those who like to sit forward while getting their tuck on, will be interested too

Fizik's Arione saddles are well known among road circles and the Tri version has been a hit on the multisport scene for the last few years. The new Tri 2 is longer than a regular road saddle, at 310mm, so you can ride on the nose (which is lightly padded) when putting the power down in an aero position, but move back when you need to climb.

Like the regular road version, the Tri 2 has benefits such as the Wingflex sides which move with your legs for a comfy ride. There's a thin layer of foam with a microtex covering that helps to take the sting out of the ride. The top is seamless, so you can slide around without any discomfort, always a bonus on a TT style bike if you're tired of sitting in one position for too long.

Tubular titanium rails help keep the weight down; at 255g it's not über light, but the trade-off is comfort and positioning.

All in all, it's a quality saddle with tried and tested features and some updated tweaks such as the integrated clip system underneath that takes Fizik's bags and tail light. It's only available in anthracite.
