Not cheap, but stiff, sweetly shaped and a contender for ultimate base bar honours

While all-in-one cockpits look fly, mixing and matching a base bar with a set of clip-on extensions gets you a lot more choice. Zipp’s new Vuka Bull is a great place to start the ultimate custom cockpit too. At 213g it’s not much lighter than the lightest alloy bars, but the full-carbon construction is as stiff as hell when you’re heaving up climbs or hammering out of corners.

Grippy surface finish and full internal cable routing means that you don’t have to tape them either unless you want some padding. The broad circular centre section gives loads of width adjustment for extensions, while the aerofoil outer sections reduce drag. It’s available in flat or 40mm drop formats too, depending on where you want your hands.
