Reasonably light, very aero low-profile bar, but brake routing and bolt tightening is tricky

We’ve tested the carbon Aero Wing with integrated brake levers before, but this set uses neat clamshell hand pods that take conventional brake levers. Internal cable routing is very tight and potentially sticky though.

The forward extensions (from a choice of three £75 carbon or three £40 alloy options) slide right through the base bar before clamping at the rear with a single clamp bolt. This bolt also controls the angle and sweep of the pad arms, which move around a rounded collar and it holds the carbon pad plates in place too. This is useful for keeping weight down, but we’ve had a couple of sets where at least one bolt or pad worked loose.
