The Idylle offers amazing control but it comes at a pretty high price...

This French beauty uses an open bath cartridge system, which delivers a super slick 200mm (7.8in) of travel that is capable of taking on anything in its path.

The Idylle RaRe may weigh in at 3.31kg (7.3lb), but its performance certainly makes up for it. The plush action and masses of control mean the RaRe not only tracks the ground superbly, but leaves you wanting to push harder and harder. What really stands out about the RaRe is how well it works in its mid-stroke, sitting up in the travel without just blowing through and bottoming-out.

The RaRe flattens the trail out in front of you, even when things get super steep and the bumps get more frequent. Square-edged big hits don’t stifle their action, and the Idylle remains consistent and competent wherever the front wheel is heading, which makes you want to keep going faster. This being the case, the RaRe is a real confidence booster.

The adjustments are finely indexed and work well. We found using BOS’s base settings pretty much spot on and have only tweaked the fork very slightly since setting it up.

The price will certainly put many off, and the fact the adjusters require tools is a bit of a pain too, but otherwise this is a fine set of forks.
