Despite the cost there is a waiting list for these exotic two-piece German cranks. THM dispense with the idea that you need to use an aluminium skeleton carbon fibre, as both the bottom bracket and cranks are made out of the black stuff.
The left-hand crank clamps down onto the axle that has lobed splines so the contact area is larger than other designs.
In use they are stiff compared to most of the other cranks - you can really feel the weight-saving that fitting such a chainset makes when you lift the bike. The bearings are uncannily smooth when you turn the cranks and the general standard of engineering expertise here is undeniable but it is hard to reconcile the cost when compared to slightly more affordable high end designs like the Time. Max rider weight is stated as 85kg and it is also available in a matt finish.
