One hundred and eighty! It is a lot of money for a pair of shorts, but as you’d hope at this price, there's a lot going on.
The 10-panel design features two different types of Lycra: eight of the panels are ‘Lycra Power’, which is claimed to increase compression and provide more support for your muscles; the other two side panels are ‘Revolutional Lycra’, light breathable and extremely stretchy.
They were very comfortable, though it was hard to determine the claimed benefits. The braces are narrow, the back a lightweight mesh. In addition to this, the piping is reflective and the shorts themselves have an SPF of 50.
There are two good sized rear pockets. The inch-wide grippers are smooth, grip well and there’s plenty of reflective detailing. The chamois is from Elastic Interface Technology; it has different density inserts and EIT’s Carbonium material to wick away sweat.
Maybe not an everyday pair of shorts, but for race days or looking the part on your Super Record-equipped steed these are just the job – if your pockets are deep enough.
