Dual personality shorts that are a handy aid in unpredictable weather

Three-quarter-length baggies are becoming an increasingly popular choice for riders in wet climates and British company Endura already have a number of excellent offerings. The new Spray Baggy shorts, though, are the most versatile of the lot.

They use a cunning mix of four-way stretch Cordura on the front and a three-layer waterproof fabric with fully taped seams on the back. Most of the water you encounter out riding – unless it’s raining – is coming up from the ground in the shape of splash and splatter, rather than from the sky, so this makes perfect sense.

The crotch panel is a reinforced waterproof fabric to stand up to abrasion from gritty saddles. In cut and fit it’s unsurprisingly very similar to Endura’s popular Singletrack three-quarter short, and hence very comfortable. The price isn’t bad either – you could certainly spend more for little extra benefit.
