Discreet, lightweight and tight-fitting alternative to the competition, and cheaper too

The new Bender Fender adds another choice to the already packed line-up of mountain bike mudguards, and we reckon Mucky Nutz are onto a winner.

This flat piece of plastic attaches to the brace of your suspension fork using the supplied Velcro straps and bends – hence the name – around your front tyre to prevent mud being flicked up into your face.

Due to the simplicity of its design, the Bender is seriously lightweight – in fact, we’re certain it’s the lightest guard available. Its stealthy look means it won't ruin the lines of your bike.

Fitting the fender doesn't take long but getting the Velcro straps to fit your fork/tyre combination can be fiddly. We ended up swapping them for cable ties, which can't be released as quickly for cleaning but resulted in a better fit.

Throughout testing the Bender proved consistently effective, keeping mud out of our eyes and off our bodies and bikes.
