Red is the new black! Yes, that does sound like a fashion statement, but that’s just what the new DTSwiss E 2200s are.
A mix of ‘go faster’ red styling and classic white decals make great looking wheels. Sleeve-joined rims, 32 double butted spokes and easily serviceable DT Swiss hubs make these a great choice to test on our global freeride tour.
So far they’ve been laughing at the fast rooty downhill runs around Queenstown, New Zealand.
Weighing in at 1,025g for the 20mm bolt-through front wheel and 1,255g for the 135mm rear wheel including quick-release means they are plenty light enough for freeride use.
Despite being cheaper than the EX1750 and FR2350 wheels, they still give your wallet a bit of a hammering, but you do get two DT Swiss wheel bags for your money.
The wheels have shrugged off casing numerous doubles and some full-on downhill hammering without needing so much as a spoke key waving at them, and tension has stayed spot on, proving that despite being the basic extreme use wheels in DT’s range, they’re still good quality.
