Good fit, well thought-out pockets and a back protector to add peace of mind

The Bliss ARG Vertical LD is a 12-litre backpack with integrated back protection. For its price, it is up against some stiff competition from the likes of CamelBak and EVOC.

It doesn’t come with a bladder but does have a sleeve for one in the main compartment, which also contains an internal pocket that's the perfect size to hold a multi-tool and tyre levers.

There’s a large front pocket and a fleece-lined one that's ideal for keeping your riding glasses scratch-free. The helmet cradle works fine with open-face lids but is stretched and fiddly if you try to attach a full-face.

The pack stays firmly in place thanks to the wide shoulder and hip straps and thin chest strap. The back protector adds peace of mind and is made from Armorgel, which is nicely flexible and absorbs impacts well.

Shorter riders may find the pack too long, so it’s worth trying it on before you shell out your cash.
