Spanish pro team Movistar are moving to German power meter provider Power2Max in 2014.
Riders such as Tour de France runner up Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde will now use Power2Max's new Type S meter, which according to the team manager, Eusebio Unzué, is simple to use, accurate and allows the riders to "focus 100 percent on their job".
The development is at the expense of well-established power meter provider, SRM, who also lost out at Team Sky last week when it was announced the British squad had moved to Stages Power.
Power2Max said it worked closely with Movistar and the team’s component provider, Campagnolo, to develop the Type S, which has automatic zeroing, a user-changeable battery and temperature compensation capabilities.
