Orbea’s Onix boasts a very good frame and some very neat design touches like the way the cables are routed through the head tube logo. It’s also comfortable, light handling, and in spite of a slight tendency to oversteer, it climbs and descends well.
As with most bikes at this price there are some inevitable equipment compromises, and the Vittoria Zaffiro tyres are a little out of place. These are £8 tyres, and while they’re okay in the dry they’re not the best for wet rides. The Orbea is best suited to long rides in the saddle; one for the sportive rider not the wannabe racer.
